He was born Feb. 21, 1930, in England, Ark., and married his wife of 47 years, Betty Monroe McPherson, on Jan. 3, 1953. He was retired from the maintenance department of Arkansas Veterans Administration and was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Monroe McPherson; two sons, Gary McPherson and wife, Freda, and Chris McPherson, all of Cabot; two daughters, Dana Castile and husband, Larry, of Jacksonvile, and Kina Whipple and husband, Rick, of Cabot; four brothers, Enis McPherson of Conway and Charles, Ray and Johnie Clifford McPherson, all of North Little Rock; four sisters, Velma Bailey of Illinois, Mary Dycus of North Little Rock, Elizabeth Reeves of Quitman and Juanita Higdon of Wooster; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the First Assembly of God Church, 221 North Elm, Jacksonville, with Rev. Royce Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Audrey Jurlene Pless Miller, aged 81, was born March 25, 1921 in Lonoke, Ark to the late James Albert and Lula Lassiter, passed away Nov. 4, 2002.

She was a lifelong resident of Lonoke and McGehee. She was retired from McGehee Public School System, and was a member of Steel Bridge Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, William Earl Plass and Floyd Miller, son, Gary Vance Pless, sister, Wilma Lingo and four brothers, Ernest Sr., W.A. (Dink), Fletcher and Marlie Lassiter.

She is survived by her sons, Bill Pless of Chandler Ariz, and Don Pless of Chandler Ariz, and Don Pless of Hattiesburg, Miss; sisters, Florence Smith and Nadine Stover, both of Lonoke; seven grandchildren, Dawana, Gary, Audrey Ann, Jennifer, Sara, Valeri and Ben; seven great-grandchldren; and a host of family and friends.
