He operated commercial print shops and newspapers in Dierks, Rector, El Dorado,Prescott, Camden, Pine Bluff and White Hall. He was a 2nd lieutenant in the Army, and saw action as an officer with the 275th Armored Field Artillery Battalion in the Ardennes during the Battle for the Bulge, for which he received the Silver Star. He received the Army Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters for meritorious achievement, and Bronze Stars. He is listed in the 1965 edition of Arkansas Lives.

He reared three children, Michael (Little Neil), Genna (Bebee) Morrow and Kathy Wong. In 1980 he married Marla Stewart of Jacksonville; csh5/31/2000
