Military History & Genealogy RecordsThe Olive Tree Genealogy is pleased to offer genealogical data and advice in finding your American or Canadian Military ancestor, as well as historical information. Having dozens of military ancestors, this section is near and dear to my heart!I also have a son (my youngest, age 23) who is a soldier in the Canadian Army -- 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry -- the only Canadian Batallion in history to receive a Presidential Unit Citation (for its role in the battle of Kapyong in Korea). I've spent a great deal of time finding data for other researchers to use in their search for their Military ancestors. I hope you find this section helpful! My pages provide historical background for each conflict, chronological timelines, statistics, battles, famous Americans & Canadians, biographies of soldiers, heroes and their stories, contributions of women, muster rolls for conflicts before 1900, Letters Home (from soldiers at the front), music and poetry, guest authors' submissions, links to other online resources, and Research Libraries. To use this Military Section I suggest you begin with whatever military action is of interest to you. Within each war you will find an overview of the action, the participants, lists of books and resources, and muster rolls or pay lists when found. You will also find mailing lists you can join and links to other sites with more information. Enjoy! You can also try The Canadian Military Heritage Project
