OUR CLARK FAMILY

      Joseph H. Clark was born Jan 1850, in Alabama, his parents are unknown to this researcher, but he was in Georgia by 1877 when he married Martha Matilda Land, born 23 Dec 1858, daughter of James Johnson and Sarah Emaline Cline Land. They were married 23 Sep 1877 in Cherokee County, Georgia. They made their home in Bartow County until about the mid 1920's when they moved back to Cherokee County.
      On the 26th of March 1927, during a time of personal depression, Joseph Clark committed suicide by hanging himself from a rafter in his home late one night, Martha found him the next morning. Joseph is buried in the Sixes Cemetery, in the Sixes Community in Cherokee County. After his death Martha went to live with their daughter, Luzina and died 30 August 1938 in Happy Hollow, Whitfield County, Georgia. Their children are:

  1. Flora Ann Malinda Elizabeth married William Francis Findley
  2. James Melvin
  3. Luzina married Jessee Clark
