Lincoln County Genealogical Society
Speaker Marcia Wilson
Toledo, Oregon
When Department President Perri Pitman Parker and Carolyn Shipley Kolzow heard that there was to be a speaker at the Lincoln County Genealogical Society on Saturday, July 15th focusing on techniques for doing research on our ancestors who participated in the Civil War; they attended that meeting. Marcia Wilson, wearing an antique cameo brooch that belonged to her great-great-grandmother, gave a very detailed and interesting lecture on researching her Civil War veteran. Perri at the close of the meeting announced that the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865 would like to start a tent in Lincoln County.
Interest Seemed High
Society members gathered afterward to talk. Art Kelly, knowing several women in Toledo who would qualify, promised to spread the word. Left to right... Perri Parker with Marcia Wilson, Barbara Cooper, and Nancy Edwards who all expressed an interest.
