Historical/Genealogical Societies and Museums

Agness-Ilahee Museum

Chetco Valley Historical Society Museum

Admission: Adults, $1.00; Children (5-11), $.50
Hours: Mid-March to October, Thursday-Sunday, Noon to 4 p.m.
Extended days and hours in the summer.
This museum is located in the historic 1857 Blacke House. The largest Monterey cypress in the United States is also located on the museum grounds.

Curry County Historical Society Museum

Located at the Curry County Fairgrounds, the Museum is run by the Curry County Historical Society.
Admission: Free; Donations welcome.
Summer Hours (June-September): Tuesday-Saturday, Noon to 4 p.m.
Winter Hours (October to May): Saturday, Noon to 4 p.m.
The museum features historical programs, Native American artifacts, maritime relics, a large photographic collection, and much more. The Historical Society also has county records, obituaries, and other information on file for genealogical research.
