Let Freedom Ring

State Project

The Lewis and Clark chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution secured a site
and designed a Revolutionary War Memorial to be enacted in Memorial. This memorial will contain 13 benches to represent each of the original colonies. For our state project, we will continue to raise funds to sponsor a bench at the planned Revolutionary War Memorial at War memorial Park In Beaverton.

To assist in raising funds, Jennifer has designed a new pin. Each pin will sell for $10.00, which will go towards the goal of funding the second half of the bench. Pins will be sold at C.A.R./DAR/SAR meetings, as well as other events. In addition, personal donations are greatly appreciated.

President's Pin

This pin, which states, "Let Freedom Ring-Liberty Bell" represents the freedom that the nation gained through the sacrifice of Revolutionary War soldiers, and the continuing sacrifice of present soldiers to maintain this freedom.

In addition, May 2012 commemorates the 100th year anniversary of women's right to vote in Oregon. This event gave women a say in their government, which is the same right the colonists fought for in the Revolution. Women's suffrage was a major step toward liberty and freedom for all people.
