     Moses Lambert COTTINGHAM, son of Elisha COTTINGHAM Jr. and Nancy PARKER, was born on 17 June 1828 in Centreville, Bibb County, Alabama.

Moses married Nancy Catherine WOODS on 6 December 1849 in Bibb County, Alabama.

Moses Lambert COTTINGHAM and Nancy Catherine WOODS appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 4 November 1850 in the west side of the Cahaba River, Bibb County, Alabama. The household was listed as Moses Cottingham, a 22-year-old farmer and his 18-year-old wife, Catherine. They lived next door to Jeremiah and Charlotte Brown Tate and Asa A. and Mary Brown.1

Moses began military service at age 33 on 15 October 1861 in Monroe, Louisiana, as a private in Co. A 28th Louisiana Infantry, CSA and continued until discharged 9 Apr 1865. In 1907 he was living at Randolph, Alabama.

Moses married Erie RISINGER in 1871 in Bibb County, Alabama.

Moses Lambert COTTINGHAM died on 29 August 1911 in Bibb County, Alabama, at age 83.2 He was buried in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
