     Cpl. Aaron Fry ABNEY, son of Robert Milton ABNEY and Catherine Powell Smtih, was born on 26 June 1844 in LaRue County, Kentucky.1

Aaron began military service at age 17 on 27 September 1861 in Camp Sherman, Kentucky, when he enlisted as a corporal in Company F, 15th Kentucky Infanty (Union). He was described as 5' 10" being of light complexion with dark hair and blue eyes. He and his brother, Elbert, were killed in action at the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky.2

Cpl. Aaron Fry ABNEY died on 8 October 1862 at Battle of Perryville in Perryville, Kentucky, at age 18.1 He was buried in Magnolia Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Magnolia, LaRue County, Kentucky.
