Ann ABNEY, daughter of Michael ABNEY and Ann TURNER, was born in 1776 in Edgefield District, South Carolina.
Anna was one of the best known and best loved women in her area; she was prominent in all church work, took much interest in public affairs generally, everyone was her friend. Her nephew George H. Abney discribed her as "an exceptionally fine looking woman" who was loved by everyone.
Ann married William BUFFINGTON circa 1801. She was buried in Gassaway United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saluda Old Town, Saluda County, South Carolina.
