     Irma Margaret ABNEY, daughter of William Azariah ABNEY and Mary Ann Stone, was born on 12 January 1887 in Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama.¹

She provided the following explanation for her trip on her passport application: "Since the marriage of my brother on whom I have been dependent I have no other support than that of my sisters, Mrs. Cora McCormack, of Leesburg, Fla., who depends on her son who is with the A.E.F. and Mrs. H.B. Bardwell of Havana, Cuba. Mrs. Bardwell's husband is president of Candler College of Havana, also residing elder of the Methodist Conference of the Havana District. My sister, Mrs. Hardwell, is very anxious that I be with her in order that she may be of assistance to me in earning a living, and this is the reason it is imbarkation that I go to Cuba."

She was described as five foot one inch in height, gray eyes, dark brown hair, brunette complexion, medium forehead, and straight nose. Her occupation was housekeeper.¹

Irma Margaret ABNEY appeared on a census, enumerated 5 January 1920, in the household of Maurice Abney McCormack in Leesburg, Lake County, Florida. She was recorded as a 32-year-old telephone operator.

Irma Margaret ABNEY died in July 1960 in DeSoto County, Florida, at age 73.² She was buried in Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg, Lake County, Florida.
