Willis is named in William's will as a neighbor of his Bunscomb tract.1

Burt, 23; William Burt, 21; Malinda Burt, 20; Joseph Burt, 18; Nancy Burt, 15; and Sarah Burt, 14. Willis and Rebecca were born in North Carolina and all of theire children were born in Tennessee.1
On 7 September 1852 Rebecca died in Franklin County, Tennessee, at age 54 leaving Willis a widower.1
