     Brancey Jane BERRY, daughter of David BERRY and Monica (?), was born in 1838 in Alabama. She was also known as Jane.

Brancey Jane BERRY appeared on a census, enumerated 1 June 1860, in the household of James W. BERRY in Bibb County, Alabama.2

Brancey married Jesse Miller BROWN, son of David Leggett BROWN and Elizabeth HALLMARK, on 22 July 1860 in Bibb County, Alabama. The ceremony was performed by J. W. Adams, M. G.3,4

Jane BERRY and Jesse Miller BROWN appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 1 June 1870 in Centreville, Bibb County, Alabama. The household was listed as Jesse Brown, age 30, farmer; Jane, age 30; Pride, female, age 9; Clara, age 7; Claude, male, age 5; and Renfro, age 5 months, born January. Everyone was born in Alabama. Jesse had $300 in real estate and $150 in personal property.5

Jane and Jesse moved from Alabama to Mississippi circa 1874.

Brown was a 44 year old farmer; his wife Jane, 46, was keeping house; daughter Parthula, 19, was at home; daughter Clauda [Clara], 14, was at home; son Renfroe, 10, worked on farm; son Monroe, 8; and son Willie, 5, born in Mississippi. All of the others were born in Alabama.6

Brancey Jane BERRY died before 1900.7
