     Susan Pope ABNEY, daughter of Jacob Pope ABNEY, was born on 15 December 1820 in South Carolina.1

Susan married Andrew Jackson McCarty on 28 October 1849 at the home of John Kirksey in Edgefiled County, South Carolina. John Kirksey was the bride's grandfather.1

Susan Pope ABNEY died on 30 December 1896 in Lee County, Mississippi, at age 76.1 She was buried in Boguefala Cemetery.
