     Mary Ann GRAVES, daughter of William GRAVES III and Mary Young, was born on 17 August 1821 in Lowndes County, Alabama.1

Mary married John Gillon Rogers on 25 November 1841 in Lowndes County, Alabama.

Mary Ann GRAVES and John Gillon Rogers raised the four orphan children of Nancy L. GRAVES after her death in in 1844. This was done under the supervision of the Lowndes county orphan court. Mary Ann and Nancy were sisters.

Mary Ann GRAVES was named an heir in the will of William GRAVES III dated 26 September 1854 in Lowndes County, Alabama. He left her Webster's large dictionary.2

John died on 6 March 1855 in Lowndesboro, Lowndes County, Alabama, at age 37 leaving Mary Ann GRAVES as a widow.

Mary Ann GRAVES and Young William GRAVES moved from Lowndes County to De Soto Parish, Louisiana, circa 1856. After the settlement of their father's estate, Mary Ann, now a young window, moved to Keatchie, Louisiana with her brother.3

Mary Ann GRAVES died on 30 July 1858 in Keatchie, De Soto Parish, Louisiana, at age 36.1,3 She was buried in Keatchie Cemetery.
