     Forrest Christopher Alley, son of Erasmus Hurt Alley and Nellie Peck Abney, was born on 14 August 1929 in Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama.1

Forrest Christopher Alley appeared on a census, enumerated 3 April 1930, in the household of Erasmus Hurt Alley and Nellie Peck Abney in Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama.2 He was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Clemson, Pickens County, South Carolina.

Forrest Christopher Alley died on 19 December 2011 in South Carolina at age 82.

His obituary appeared 21 December 2011 in the Greenville News, published in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Forrest Christopher Alley, 82, of 1013 Keystone Lane and husband of Nancy Brown Alley, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the CARC Health Care Center.

Born in Tuskegee, AL, he was a son of the late Hurt Erasmus and Nelle Abney Alley. Dr. Alley retired in 1989 as professor of Chemical Engineering at Clemson University where he taught for 31 years. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees from Auburn University and his PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill and also attended N.Y. University. He was a USAir Force veteran of The Korean War and a member of Clemson United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Steve Alley and wife, Jeannie of Clemson and David Alley and wife, Cheryl of Fort Mill, SC; daughter Eileen Long and husband, Ken of Greenville, SC; brother Guy Alley of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Alley and wife Carie, Katy Alley, and Sophie Alley; and great-grandchildren, Sutton and Caroline Alley.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorial services will be 11 AM, Thursday at Clemson United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Ray officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A private committal service will be held prior to the service at Woodland Cemetery on the campus of Clemson University.

The family will be at 500 Shorecrest Drive, Clemson, SC 29631. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clemson UMC, P.O. Box 590, Clemson, SC 29633; the Alzheimer's Association , 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621; or to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Court, Duncan, SC 29334.
