Guy H. Alley
     Guy Houston Alley, son of Erasmus Hurt Alley and Nellie Peck Abney, was born on 11 March 1925 in Demopolis, Marengo County, Alabama.

Guy Houston Alley appeared on a census, enumerated 3 April 1930, in the household of Erasmus Hurt Alley and Nellie Peck Abney in Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama.1 He graduated in 1948 at Auburn University . He was buried in Abney Cemetery, Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama.

Guy Houston Alley died in July 2018 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, at age 93.

Guy was born on March 11th, 1925 in Demopolis, Alabama. He was the son of Erasmus Hurt Alley (1880-1949) of St. Clair County and Nellie Abney Alley (1888-1970) of Chilton County, Alabama.

Paternal Grandparents: Robert Erasmus Alley (1848-1930) of Bledsoe County, Tennessee and Susan M. Hughes Alley (1849-1890) of Hamilton, Tennessee.
Maternal Grandparents: Samuel Abney IV (1835-1917) and Martha Anne Walker Abney (1845-1922). Both of Bibb County, Alabama.

He had three brothers; Edwin Hurt Alley (1915-1975), Lt. Colonel William S. Abney Alley (1919-1986) and Dr. Forrest Christopher Alley (1929-2011). Also two sisters; Evelyn (1911-?) and Mamie (1913-?).

He served as a pilot in the Air Force during WWII, graduated Auburn University in 1948 making him a proud member of the Golden Eagles.

He was an employee of the telephone company throughout his entire career until his retirement in 1987.

Guy had a great sense of humor, a high ethical standard, and always maintained a positive attitude.

He is survived by his three children, Barbara Manon Martinez of Birmingham, AL, Cynthia Pike and her husband Robert of Sedona, AZ, and Guy Houston Alley, Jr. and his wife June of Reklaw, TX, one grandson, Paul Martinez and his wife Amanda of Nashville, TN, and one great grandson, Connor Martinez of Nashville, TN.

Private family services will be held at the Abney Family Cemetery.
