James T. Rucker was born circa 1840 in Georgia.1
James married Susannah Elvira ABNEY, daughter of James Wiley ABNEY and Eleanor Ward HAILEY, on 27 June 1861 in Elbert County, Georgia. He was the son of Peter W. and Mary Hailey Rucker. James and Susannah had five children: Emily, William, Frances, George and Isham.1
James T. Rucker died after 1865 in Newton County, Mississippi.1 He was buried in Abney Cemetery.
