     Jacob SNIDER, son of Daniel SNIDER and Barbara WEAVER, was born circa 1837 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.1,2

Jacob married Ellen Johnson on 12 October 1859 in Trion, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.3,4,5

Jacob SNIDER and Ellen Johnson appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 30 August 1860 in Collns Beat, Trion, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The household was listed as Jacob Snider, age 23, farmer, $200 personal property; and Ellen Snider, age 18, seamtress. Both of them were born in Alabama.3

Jacob saw military service on 13 May 1862 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, when he appeared on the roster of Company D, 36th Alabama Infantry Regiment. He was listed as a private, age 22. He died in the war. Some sources say he died in Richmond, Virginia, but the 36th was never in Virginia.6
