     Amanda D. Booth was born in 1825 in Georgia.1 She was also known as Amanda M.

Amanda married William Marshall BURT I, son of Richard BURT and Margaret BURT, on 26 October 1846 in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. Performed by John E. Dawson, MG.1,2,3

Amanda D. Booth and William Marshall BURT I appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 26 August 1850 in District 697, Troup County, Georgia. The household was listed as Wm. M. Burt, a 28-year-old instructor, and Amanda, his 24-year-old wife. William had real estate valued at $7,000. Also in the household was the couple's two-year-old son, Wm. M.4

Amanda D. Booth and William Marshall BURT I appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 1 June 1860 in Beat 4 (Salem), Russell County, Alabama. The household was listed as W. M. Burt, male, age 38, farmer; A. M. Burt, female, age 35; Marshall Burt, age 14; and E. Burt, male, age 7. All were born in Georgia. William had $65,000 in property. Living next door was his cousing William Washington Burt.1

William died on 2 July 1860 in Salem, Lee County, Alabama, at age 41 leaving Amanda as a widow. After his death she moved to Russell county to live with hier son William, Jr.5,6

Amanda married William Washington BURT, son of Zacheus BURT and Elizabeth BURT, on 15 June 1864 in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. She was the widow of his double cousin, William M. Burt. The marriage ceremony was performed by W. Y. Pruitt, minister of the Gospel.7,8

Amanda D. BURT and William Washington BURT appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 1 August 1870 in Salem, Lee County, Alabama. The household was listed as W. W. Burt, a 50-year-old farmer born in Georgia, and A. D. Burt, his 45-year-old wife born in Georgia. He had real estate valued at $5,000 and personal property valued at $2,000. Living with them were S. W. Burt, 19, works on farm, and R. E. Burt, 16, both born in Alabama.9

Amanda D. Booth was named an heir in the will of William Washington BURT dated 24 June 1878 in Lee County, Alabama.10

Amanda D. Booth appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 25 June 1880 in Salem, Lee County, Alabama. The household was listed as Mrs. A. D. Burt, a widow, age 45. She was born in Georgia and her parents were born in Virginia. Living with her were her son, R. E. L., age 26, and her daughter-in-law, E. B., age 21.

Amanda D. Booth died on 3 November 1886.2
