     Charles married Josephine HUNT, daughter of Wade Hampton HUNT and Jennie COLLIER, on 21 May 1929 in Aiken, South Carolina. Their wedding announcement read: "Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Hunt announce the marriage of their daughter, Josephine, to Charles Madden Cook, of Macon, Ga. The wedding took place in Aiken, S. C., May 21, a few relatives being present. The bride received a diploma in dramatic arts from the Wesleyan Conservatory at Macon, Ga. on May 31, immediately after which the couple left for St. Simon's Island for ten days. Mr. Cook is a prominent lawyer and is now practicing with the Jones, Jones, Johnson and Russell law firm in Macon. After June 10 Mr. and Mrs. Cook will be at home to their friends at 350 Orange Street in Macon." The article goes on to say that while Josephine "has been residing with Mr. and Mrs. Homer Collier in Dawson, Ga., she spent much of last summer here and was noted for her personal charm and musical talent."1,2
