Joshua ABNEY, son of Elisha ABNER and Nancy Calloway, was born in 1774 in Albemarle County, Virginia.
Joshua married Patsy PHELPS on 6 May 1795 in Green County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of William and Nancy Nail Phelps.
Joshua saw military service circa 1814 as a private in the 2nd Regiment of West Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812.
Joshua ABNEY died in 1845 in Jefferson County, Illinois. He was buried in Abner Cemetery, Nason, Jefferson County, Illiinois.
