     Mary Madge BURT, daughter of Henry McKenzie BURT and Margaret Mims CURRY, was born on 10 August 1873 in Talladega, Talladega County, Alabama.1

Mary Madge BURT was a student in Judson College, Marion, Alabama, in 1891.2

Mary married Hampton Knox MILLER on 27 November 1896 in Talladega County, Alabama. He was the only son of Judge George Knox and Celeste McCann Miller of Talladega. Madge and Hampton made their home near Monticello, Florida at the Summitt Nursery.1

Mary Madge BURT appeared in a newspaper article 4 December 1896 in the Prattville Progress, published in Prattville, Alabama. We take the following from The Talladega Mountain Home: "The Talladega First Baptist Church presented a scene on yesterday morning... the occasion was the marriage of Prof. Hampton Knox Miller, formerly of this city, now of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Miss Mary Madge Burt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Burt..."

Mary Madge BURT died on 6 January 1965 at age 91. She was buried in Roseland Cemetery, Monticello, Jefferson County, Florida.3
