     Frances M. BURT, daughter of John James BURT and Sarah Bell WEBB, was born on 7 April 1878 in San Jose, California.2 Frances M. BURT also went by the name of Fannie.

Frances M. BURT appeared on a census, enumerated 1 June 1880, in the household of John James BURT and Sarah Bell WEBB in San Jose, Santa Clara County, California.3

As of 1897, Frances M. BURT was living with John James BURT at 1721 Oak Steet, San Francisco. The city directory recorded Miss Frances M. Burt as a stenographer for her father at his office at 414-416 Safe Deposit Building.

In 1899 and 1901 Frances M. BURT was working as a stenographer in her father's law firm in 530 California Street, San Francisco. She lived with her parents at 727 Ashbury Street.

Frances M. BURT appeared on a census, enumerated 9 June 1900, in the household of her parents John James BURT and Sarah Bell WEBB in San Francisco, California. She was recorded as Frances Burt, age 22. She was a clerk in her father's law office.4

As of February 1903, Frances M. BURT was living with John James BURT and Sarah Bell WEBB at San Francisco, California. The City Directories in 1901 and 1903 listed Miss Frrances M. Burt as a stenographer for her father at his law office at 530 Califormia Street. In 1901 their residence was given as 727 Ashbury.5

Frances married Dr. George Lawrence Stevenson on 14 November 1903 in San Francisco, California.1

Frances M. BURT appeared in a newspaper article 20 November 1903 in the The Free Lance, published in Hollister, California. "Miss Frances M. Burt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Burt, was married at the home of her parents in San Francisco last Saturday evening to Dr. George Stevenson, superintendant of the Railroad Hospital at Sacremento."

Frances M. BURT appeared in a newspaper article 16 November 1907 in the The Sacramento Bee, published in Sacramento, California. Social Notes - Mrs. George L. Stevenson has had as her guests this week her sister, Miss Henrietta Burt of Berkeley, and her cousin, Miss Frances Stone of Los Angeles.

The household was listed as George L. Stevenson, a 49-year-old physician, born Pennsylvania; Frances M. Stevenson, 40-years-old; and three lodgers: Bernice Scully, 15; Nadine Scully, 8; (both born California) and Ray Thomas, 20, from Oregon. All three were in school. The household was listed as George Stevenson, a 59-year-old phyacian and surgery in general practice, born in Pennsyvania, as were his parents. He was not a veteran. His wife Frances M. Stevenson, was 52-years-old, born in Califormia. The house on L Steet was valued $10,000 and they had a radio. Also in the household was their daughter, Nadine, age 18, and Sadie F. Bluett, a 42-year-old back servant, born California.

Frances M. BURT and Dr. George Lawrence Stevenson were included on a voters' list in 1932 in Sacramento County, Callifornia. They were listed as George L. Stevenson, physician, and Mrs. Francis(sp) M. Stevenson, housewife. They lived at 2420 L Street.

She owned a house on L Street valued at $6000. Also in the house was her daughter Bernice Tackney, 35, married; son-in-law John Tackney, 36, dentist; granddaughter Sally Tackney, 8; and Sadie F. Blluett, 49 year-old black maid.

Frances M. BURT died on 1 July 1961 in Sacramento, Sacramento County, Callifornia, at age 83.6 She was buried in East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento, California.
