John Wilson ABNEY, son of Pvt. Paul ABNEY and Rhoda NORMAN, was born on 2 January 1788 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He was a blacksmith.
During War of 1812, John Wilson ABNEY enlisted in the Tennessee Militia under Col. Dyer in 1812 in Dickson County, Tennessee. He was killed during the Battle of New Orleans.
John Wilson ABNEY died on 23 February 1815 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at age 27.1 He was buried in Chalmette National Cemetery, Chalmette, St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana.
