Emma married James Franklin MATHEWS, son of Henry James MATHEWS and Martha Ann Frances COLEMAN, in 1869 in Autauga County, Alabama. Soon after their marriage the couple moved to Monroe, Baldwin County, Georgia, there James engaged in the jewelry business.1
