WATSON, Archibald
(d.), was b. in Crieff, Perthshire, Scot., and came to
Canada in 1831, his family followed him in 1834. He bought rear lots 37 and
38, con. 8, which was one of the first farms set. in Badenoch, as Nicoll
Bros. were chopping on it when McLean and Grant located at Badenoch. Mr.
Watson was a Presbyterian and a Liberal. His wife d. in Scot. Robert, his
son, was eleven years old when he came to Puslinch with his father in 1834,
and has always lived on the farm. He was a Presbyterian, and a Liberal, being
on the of the early members of the Duff's Church. He m. Elizabeth Bullock.
Issue: William, Los Angelos, Cal.; George, Man.; Charles and Robert, farming
near Brandon, Man.; Albert, in Detroit; Frank, Mrs. John Nicklin, Aberfoyle;
Mrs. Jno. Cummings, Detroit; Mrs. Adam Howie, and Mrs. John Tansley, Chicago.
Frank was b. and raised on the homestead, and succeeded to it at his father's death. He was a Presbyterian and a Liberal. He was killed in 1904, by a train of the C.P.R., which crosses the farm.
