TIGHE, Walter , is one of the substantial farmers of Maryborough Tp. He is the son of the late John Tighe, who was b. in Co. Mayo, Ire.,, in 1819, and came to Canada and Wallace Tp. in 1852, being one of pioneers there.

Wallace Tighe was b. in Wallace and lived there until he was twenty - one years of age, when he went with his parents to Grey Co., He was a carpenter by trade and pursued his trade successfully for nearly thirty years, and from a small beginning, by his thrift and industry, accumulated a mice property. In 1900 he came to Maryborough and purchased 200 acres, lot 3, con. 8, where he carries on mixed farming . He m. Eliza J. Boyd, Issue Oscar, Charles, Walter, Jr.; Edward and Matilda J., all living at home.
