SLOAN, Robert
, was b. in Ayrshire, Scot., and d. in 1849. He m. Jane Cuthbert. Robert C.
Sloan, his son, came to Canada in 1879, from Ayrshire, Scot., and set. in
Nichol, on lot 14, con. 2, where he has since resided. He paid cash for his
farm, and has been very successful. He is engaged in mixed farming, and feeds a
large number of cattle for export. He is known as a progressive and respected
citizen. He is a Presbyterian, and in political views a Liberal. In 1879, he m.
Agnes Stewart of Garafraxa. Issue: William, Matilda, and Jane.
