SCOTT, Thomas ,
(d.), of Eramosa, was b. Roxburghshire, Scot., 1806. While he was
not one, of the pioneers of Wellington Co., he came to Waterloo Co. in 1855,
and purchased 100 acres of land, upon which he lived until 1881, when he sold
out and purchased the old historic Peters' farm, containing 150 acres, lot 23,
con. 2, Eramosa, and there lived until his death in 1888. He m. Margaret
Brydon, and had the following issue: Mrs. James A. Armstrong (d.); David B.,
William, and John G. The two former were b. in Scot., and the last two in
Waterloo Co. The Eramosa homestead is now owned by John G., while William owns
the old Thomas McCullough farm, settled upon by McCullough in 1823. This was
one of the pioneer fruit farms in the Co., McCullough early setting out apple
trees, of which a goodly number still remain. It is one of the most attractive
farms in the section.
