SCARR, William C
., was b. Yorkshire, Eng., 1828, and came to Canada with his parents in 1830.
They set. in York Co., where he was brought up. He m. Sarah Ruston. Issue: Rev.
George, Presbyterian minister, in Neb.; Harriet, Sarah, Mrs. Reuben Besse,
Trefena, Calvert, Mrs. Charles A. Taylor, Olive (d.), and Hannah (d.).
William C. Scarr came to Peel Township in 1854, and remained two years, when he came to Maryborough, where he purchased 100 acres, lot 15, con. 9, and cleared it . The country was at this time new, and the settlers scattered, and he has lived to see this wilderness transformed into one of the most productive parts of Ontario. Starting early in life on his own resources, he has risen to a position of comfort, and in 1901 retired to Moorefield to enjoy his well earned competency, respected by all who know him. In religion Mr. Scarr is a Methodist, and in politics a Liberal. Calvert, b. Maryborough in 1874, and raised there, m. Octavia Turner. Issue: Dora L.
