ROBERTSON, George (d.), b. in the neighborhood of Galashields, Kelso, 1818, died, age 67. He was a farmer in Roxburghshire, Scot., and came to Canada in 1844, settling in Hamilton Tp., Northumberland Co., where he farmed until 1874, when he retired. He was a Presbyterian and a Liberal He m. Hannah Aitchison. Issue: Robert, Francis, David, Annie, William, Mrs. John Brooks, and Mrs. Edward Taylor.

Rev. William Robertson, the youngest son, received his education at Elora High School, Jarvis St. Collegiate Institute, Toronto, and Cobourg Collegiate Institute; graduated B.A. with honors in classics at Victoria University, Cobourg, and then took a theological course at Knox College, graduating in 1883. He was stationed and ordained at Waterdown, Oct 16 1883, and came to Duff's Church, where he now is, on Oct 21 1890. He has been Moderator of the Hamilton and Guelph Presbyterys. At the Diamond Jubilee of Duff's Church, 1899, a history of the church written by Mr. Robertson, was published. He m. Mary McLeod, of Stormont Co. Issue: Gretta, at home; Jean F., m. R. T. McNichol, of Westover, and William G., in Guelph, learning the drug business.

Rev. Mr. Robertson has also the Crieff charge which was united with Duff's Church in 1890.

Mr. Robertson, for eleven years, was a member of the Board of Examiners for the county of Wentworth, and city of Hamilton.

In 1903 Duff's Church was rebuilt, and is one of the best found in rural districts. Knox Church, Crieff, is also recently renovated and made comfortable and elegant. These congregations, long characteristic of the conservative school of Presbyterianism, have been greatly modernized in recent years.
