RICHARDSON, Thomas
, (d.), was b. Galloway, Scot., about 1830; d. 1901, age
71. He came to Canada, and Nichol Tp. in 1851, when 19 years of age. He
worked with his father and helped him clear 200 acres. In 1861 he m. Jean
Clark, and came to Peel Tp., where he purchased 100 acres, lot 6, con. 6,
then a bush farm. He cleared this farm and raised a large family. He was a
Presbyterian, a Liberal in politics, and was on the Board of Managers of the
Pres. Church for many years. He took an active part in securing gravel roads
for Peel Tp., and was a successful farmer. Issue: William, in B. C.;
Alexander, Man.; Mrs. Winfield, Toronto; David, B. C.; John C., Palmerston;
Mrs. Peter Beisel,, Winfield; Isabella, Toronto; James (d.), Thomas, on the
home farm, which he operates; Hector, Palmerston, and Margaret E., in
Rochester, N.Y.
