PERKIN, James
, b. Dorchester, Eng., 1843, came to Canada with his parents when only twelve
years of age. They set. in Darlington, where he was raised and lived until
1891, when he came to Maryborough Tp., and purchased 126 acres, which he sold
to his son in 1902, and retired to Moorefield. He m. Mary Reynolds. Issue:
William H., Arthur J., Thomas F., John L., Byron L., Leslie H., Maud, and Mrs.
Frank Humphrey. Mr. Perkin is a member of the Meth. church, and in politics a
Liberal. His well earned success in life has been due to his own exertions, and
he enjoys the confidence and respect of the whole community.
William H., m. Laura Worden. Issue: Nellie M., Hazel M., Ina L., and Elmer J. He carries on mixed farming on con. 9, Maryborough. In religion he is a Methodist, and takes an active interest in church matters. He is a Liberal in politics. Arthur J., m. Mary E. McQuery. Issue: Muriel and Florence. He is also a successful farmer on con. 9, and an active member of the Methodist church, and a Liberal in politics. Thomas F., m. Josie Scott. He is a dentist in Grand Valley. John L., m. Miss Walls.
