ORD, Robert , b. Berwickshire, Scot. He came to Canada in 1850, and set. in Badenoch, Puslinch, on 100 acres, rear lot 28, con. 8. He had been a blacksmith in Scotland, and was a well educated man. He always refused office. He was a Presbyterian and a Liberal. He m. Mary Edgar in Scotland, Issue: Mrs. Leonard Tait, David, Robert, Mrs. John Black, and Mrs. David Petty.

Andrew was twenty years of age when he came to Canada with his parents in 1850. He was educated as a land surveyor. He has always been skilful in the treatment of horses, cattle and sheep, and in former years treated their aliments for the people in the district. He would never hold office. In 1879 he sold lot 28, and moved to rear lot 24, con. 8. He also owns 100 acres, rear lot 26, 176 acres in all. He is a Presbyterian, and a Liberal. He m. Flora McLarty. Issue: Robert, John A., and Mary Jane, at home, and Andrew L., (d.) and Euphemia (d.).

Robert farms the homestead. He has been one of the Road Commissioners for years, and does contract on the roads in Puslinch.

John A. in 1898 bought the Reid estate of 118 acres, front lot 24, con. 8. He carries on mixed farming, and has had contracts, building Puslinch roads for years. He was said to be the best road maker in Puslinch Tp. He is a Presbyterian, and in Independent on politics. He m. Nettie Black. Issue: Andrew W., Janet E., John L., Florence L., Robert F. and Thomas Alexander.
