OCCOMORE, Harry , is a second son of Samuel Occomore, of Salsibury, Wiltshire, Eng. Of this family, Frank came to Canada in 1833, and located in Collingwood, where he is an electrical contractor.

Harry came to Canada in 1887, and located in Peterboro', where he learned the tinsmithing trade In 1891 he went to Collingwood and entered the hardware, tinsmith and stove business with his brother Frank, where he remained until 1899, when they sold out, and he came to Guelph and worked at his trade for a short time. He then for two years traveled for the Gurney Foundry Co., Toronto, installing furnaces for them. In 1900 he returned to Guelph on April 1st, and worked for A. Rumford as foreman, and in 1902 started for himself as a sheet metal worker on Quebec Street. In Feb., 1904, he bought out Mr. A. Rumford, in Upper Wyndham Street, forming a private company as H. Occomore & Co., stoves and house furnishings, sheet metal workers and heating contractors. He has had practical experience since 1887. They have a staff of nine employees. Mr. Occomore is Secretary of the Retail Merchants' Association for 1906, and a member of the Board of Trade. He is a member of the Official Board in Norfolk Methodist Church, and is at present Supt. of the primary work in the Sunday school, taking a very active interest in Sunday school and church work.
