NUNN, Isaac ,
(d.), b. Caledon Tp., 1833; d. 1889, age 56. He lived with his
parents until he was twenty-one years old, when he bought a bush farm and
cleared it. He afterwards sold it and purchased his present homestead, lot 13,
con. 1, West Luther. He cleared this land, which was all bush at the time of
purchase, and bought 100 acres adjoining. Mr. Nunn was a man of retiring
disposition, conscientious and of good principles. He took great interest in
church work and schools, and raised a large family, giving them all good
educations, and was successful in business. He was Trustee and Supt. of the
Sunday School in the Presbyterian church for years. In politics he was a
Liberal. In 1856 he m. Harriet McDonald, who survives him, and is living
retired at Grand Valley. Issue: John, in Port Arthur, Samuel, Colbes, Dufferin
Co.; Mrs. Wm. Ferlker (d.), Mrs. D. Bowman, Dufferin Co.; Mrs. Thomas Cornley,
Grand Valley; Isaac, Ambrose J. owns 50 acres of the old homestead; Mrs.
Wallace Eaton, Exeter; and William B., Luther Tp.
Isaac Nunn has the north quarter of the homestead, where he carries on mixed farming. He is much respected, a Liberal, and a Presbyterian. In 1899 he m. Maggie Eaton.
