MORRISON, Hugh, was b. in Co. Sligo, Ire., in 1846. He came to Canada when 14 years old, with his father who took up the present homestead of 100 acres lot 12, con. 10, Arthur where his son Hugh helped him until his death, when he inherited the homestead. They took up this land when it was all bush, and at first had a hard struggle to make a living, and would have left had they had enough money. The homestead is now valued at $6,000, and Mr. Morrison is practically retired, with the exception of carrying the mail, having rented his farm, and is residing with his daughter. He is much respected by the entire community. His first marriage was to Sarah Morrison, who d. 1868, age 40. Issue: Mrs. W. J. Morrison, Mrs. James Munns, and Mrs. Samuel Craig. In 1900 he m. Ellen Williams. They have one daughter Eliza.
