MORRIS, John , was b. in Erin Tp., in 1836. He is a son of the late John Morris of that township, who was accidently killed while felling a tree on June 5, 1835, and his son, the subject of this sketch was b. the following January. Mr. Morris' mother's maiden name was Ann House. She was of Pennsylvania Dutch descent, and d. in 1885. The father was buried in Esquesing, and his wife at Eramosa.

John Morris has been School Trustee for 25 years, and is a Methodist and a Liberal. In 1857, he m. Sarah Gibson, who d. in 1896. Issue: (Annie), Mrs. Thos. Entwistle, set. Erin; Mrs. John Entwistle, set. Guelph; George (d. young); Mrs. James Reed, set. Guelph; Mrs. W. J. Awrey, set. Erin; John A., set. Guelph; Mrs. John Gibson, and William H. Mr. Morris was married a second time in 1897, to Annie Patterson, of Caledon.

William H., the youngest son of John Morris succeeded to the property of his father, which consists of 100 acres, lot 30, con. 1. He has a fine modern brick residence, one of the largest in the district, with bank barn, and a very valuable property, with the highest assessment in the township. He m. Lottie , dau. of Robert Jestin, of Eramosa, Issue: Pearl I.
