MITCHELL, Thomas , (d.), was b. in 1837, d. 1904, age 67. He was 9 years old when he came to Canada and 12 years old when he came to Maryborough. He received for his share 100 acres, west half of lot 13, con. 15, which he started to clear as soon as he was large enough. He never held municipal office and was Trustee of S.S. No. 14 a number of times, and was Director of the Rothsay cheese factory for one term. He carried on mixed farming, and was a Presbyterian and a Deacon in Calvin Church Rothsay. In politics he was a Conservative. He m. Jane Griffith, who d. in 1899, age 46. Issue: Allan (d. age 7); Eliza (d. age 5); Mrs. Samuel Woods, Man.; Mrs. Sutherland Ternan, Peel; Mrs. Alexander Cole, Arthur Tp.; James, Maryborough Tp.,. Emma (d. age 10); Eli, Hezekiah, (d. age 7); Hattie and Daniel S.

Eli was b. on the west half of lot 13, con. 15, of the homestead. In 1903 he purchased the west half of lot 15, con. 16., from James Gillies. He carries on mixed farming and speculates in heavy horses, and buying and selling young horses. He is a Presbyterian and a Conservative. He m. Ida McKay.

Daniel S. unm., was b. and raised on the homestead of which he is now owner. He carries on mixed farming, and makes a specialty of raising heavy horses. He is an endustrious worker, and a Presbyterian and a Conservative. His sister Hattie keeps house for him.

James m. Phoebe Workman, owns and works 150 acres of lot 12, con. 15.
