MILLSON, Ebenezer
(d.), b. in Lincolnshire, Eng., in 1825, and came to Canada with his parents
when only four yeas old. They set. in Hope Tp., Durham Co., where he was raised
and educated. He m. Ann Bradley, and became one of the leading farmers of Hope.
As a young man he was ambitious to succeed, and made a record for himself. He
early joined the Meth. church, in which he was a class leader for many years.
By his energy and push, he became possessed of five hundred acres of land in
Hope, besides other property, and gave farms to and otherwise assisted his
family. He has the esteem and confidence of the community. He passed away in
1902, age 77 years. His wife pre-deceased him in 1899. Issue: Soloman, set.
Eramosa; Samuel, James, and Naylor, prosperous citizens of Hope; Mrs. R.
Seaman, set. in Hope; Mrs. George Bloomfield, set. in Oshawa, and Mrs. Alex.
Ray, set. in Victoria Co.
Soloman was b. in Hope Tp., in 1852, where he was raised and educated. He came to Eramosa in 1889, and purchased lot 15, con. 4, 150 acres, where he has since resided. He m. Mary Farrow, dau. of the late Asher Farrow, mentioned elsewhere in this work. Issue: Percy, and Violet.
