MIGHTON, Charles (d.). The late Chas. Mighton, of Pilkington, was b. in Yorkshire, Eng. He came to America in 1853, settling first in the State of Ohio, U.S., where he worked at stone cutting for a number of years; afterwards in Grey Co. where he started farming. Later he moved to Pilkington. He was an upright man of good sterling character, and successful in business undertakings, leaving his children comfortable. He was a Presbyterian and a Conservative. He m. Pauline Norris, who d. in 1893 at the age of 63 years. He d. in 1904 at the age of 76 years. Issue: Henry, m. Mary Jane Auger, set. in Peel; Annie, m. Mr. Moses Auger, set. in Pilkington; Thomas, m. Jane Wismer, set. in Pilkington; Margaret, m. Mr. Aaron Auger, set in Winnipeg; Dorothy P., m. Mr. Thomas Marshall, set. in Pilkington; Albert, d. at the age of 19 years; Hattie m. Albert Rahn set. in Algoma; Mary d. at three years; Charles N., owns the homestead of 100 acres on lot 16, con. 5, where he carries on farming with Durham cattle, and feeds stock for export. He is a successful farmer, with good buildings and everything is kept in first class order. He is a Methodist and a Conservative. He m. Henrietta L. Bowes, of Elora.
