MEYER, A. Edward . The subject of this sketch is a grandson of the late John Meyer, Sr., who was b. in Berne, Switzerland, in 1795, and came to Canada set. in Waterloo Co. in 1845, and d. in 1878, age 83; and a son of John Meyer, Jr., who was b. in Waterloo Co. in 1846, and became one of the best known breeders of Shorthorn cattle, Cotswold sheep, and Berkshire pigs in his section. He d. in 1901, and two of his sons, J. E. Meyer, and A. S. E. Meyer carry on the business established and made so successful by their respected father.

A. Edward Meyer, was b. and brought up in Waterloo Co., and is a graduate of Ann Arbor Mich. He owns "Sunny Slope Farm" of 100 acres in Guelph Tp., one and one quarter miles west of Guelph City limits, where he makes a specialty of breeding Shorthorn cattle. He m. Elizabeth Kay, and they reside in a handsome residence near the city limits.
