McMILLAN, John
was b. in Scotland, 1842, and came to Minto and purchased 125 acres, lot
16, con. A., which he settled upon and cleared. He m. Annie McLeod, and had a
large family. Mr. McMillan commenced life without capital, and through industry
and economy, he has become a well-to-do citizen of Minto, and is much
respected. He has practically retired from active life, and his son, Malcolm
carries on the farm. He m. Mary Jane Wilkins, dau. of George R. Wilkins, of the
pioneer Wilkins family, mentioned elsewhere in this work, and is an
enterprising and substantial farmer.
