McLEOD, Duncan , was b. in Islay, Scot., 1826, and came to Minto in 1863, where he became the owner of 300 acres of land. When it is taken into consideration that Mr. McLeod started life without means, and acquired his large property by his own exertions, it can be easily seen that he is a man of perseverence, industry and push. He has been School Trustee for twelve years, is a member of the Pres, church, a Liberal in politics, and a much respected citizen. He m. Catharine McLeod. They had a family of six children, viz., John, Lizzie, Catharine, Angus Neil, and Jessie.

Neil m. Mary Campbell, and owns the old homestead in Minto, on which he resides, and carries on mixed farming. The family are all good citizens and prosperous.
