McLENNAN, Kenneth (d.), b. Inverness-shire, Scot., 1814, d. in Puslinch, 1902. He came to Canada in 1833, and settled in Puslinch, where he purchased and cleared 100 acres of land. He m. Margaret Mitchell, in 1837. She was also b. Scot., and d. in Puslinch, in 1902 age 88. Issue: Alexander, Mrs. Matthew Sheady, Mrs. John Campbell, John, Mrs. Wm. Morton, Mrs. Thomas Whaley, Angus, Mrs. Findlay Smith, Kenneth, Jr., James, and Daniel. The late Kenneth McLennan, was one of the promoters of Duff's Church, in Puslinch. He was a very energetic man, and a good citizen in all that the word implies. They raised a large family, who are respected citizens in the localities where they have set., due to the influence of a worthy father and a Christian mother.

Kenneth, Jr., was b. in Puslinch, in 1854. At the age of twelve years, he started out on his own account, and for a while lived in Erin Tp., and in Nichol Tp., twenty-one years. During the last five years of his stay in Nichol, he owned fifty acres of land. He afterwards went to Galt,, and embarked in the baking business, which he ran successfully for four years, when he sold same out at an advance, and came to Guelph Tp., where he purchased 100 acres, lot 5, con. 12, upon which he has since lived. He later purchased 112 acres additional in Nichol, lot 9, con. 10. He carries on mixed farming, making a specialty of buying and fitting cattle for market. He m. Isabella Milne. Issue: Lindsay M. They are members of the Pres. church. Mr. McLennan having been Manager of the first Pres. Church, Eramosa . He was also in the Guelph Tp., Council two years.

He started in life without anything, and is to-day one of the most substantial and influential citizens in the community.
