McINTYRE, Donald
, was b. Peel co., 1842, and when twelve years of age came to Minto with his
mother. This was when the land was opened for settlement in 1854. They took up
100 acres, lot 9, con. 7, and this farm was cleared by the family. In 1868 he
m. Sarah Sinclair. Issue: Mrs. Bryce, Duluth, Minn.; Duncan, Grace, Alexander,
Christena and Dan. The family are members of the Presbyterian church, and in
politics adhere to the Liberal party. While Mr. McIntyre has never held public
office, he is a man having the respect and confidence of the community of which
he has been a member since boyhood, and for over fifty years. His son Duncan
works the homestead farm.
