McEDWARDS, Duncan
(d.) was b. in Badenoch, Invernesshire, Scot. He came to Canada in 1844, and
set. in Puslinch Tp., on con. 10, where he owned 100 acres of land. He was a
Presbyterian, and in politics a Liberal. He m. Christina Gordon, in Scot.
Issue: Donald, set. Morriston; Mrs. Donald Kennedy, Mrs. Jas. Kennedy, Mrs.
James Martin, James, John, Thomas (d.), and Mrs. James Gordon all in Puslinch.
Donald m. Elizabeth McPherson. He was a clock peddler, and a farmer. Issue:
Mrs. Kilgour. James, set. on lot 37, con. 10, Puslinch. He m. Mary Kennedy.
Issue: Duncan, (d. in California); William (d.) set. in Muskoka; Christina
(d.); Alexander, on the homestead; Mrs. Andrew Gilmour, set. in Puslinch, two
children d. in infancy; Mrs. John McFarlane, Minn.; James, in W. Flamboro, and
Mrs. Rory Murray, Minn.
Alexander, owns the homestead, to which he has added, by purchasing Gore, lot 38, front 10. He carries on mixed farming, and is a Presbyterian, and a Liberal. He has never cared for office. He m. Catherine Kennedy. Issue: Mrs. Thomas Beaton, Puslinch; Elizabeth, at home; Duncan Alexander, at home, and Annie. James, was b. in Badenoch, Scot., and was a carpenter by trade. He never married. He came over with his father in 1844, and cleared the farm, lot 36, con. 10, as his father only lived a short time after coming. John, set. on lot 30, con. 8. He is a blacksmith in Morriston, in the shop where T. B. Morrison first kept a store. He m. Elizabeth McPherson dau. of Linny McPherson. None of their issue are living in the county.
