MCDOUGALL, Dugald
, b. Islay, Scot., 1831. He came to Canada in 1858, and set. in Waterloo co.,
and in 1871 m. Mary Crumback, and with his wife, immediately came to Minto. He
had been an energetic man, and had saved some money with which to purchase a
farm, and bought lot 7, con. 6, from A. Sinclair, upon which they settled. He
started life in Canada without money, and by his own unaided efforts, has
become a prosperous and respected citizen. He has been School Trustee for some
years, and he and his family are members of Knox Pres. Church. Issue: Mrs.
Angus McLellan, Mrs. Angus Johnston, Mrs. Peter McLellan, and Duncan. The
latter manages the home farm, his father having practically retired.
