McDOUGALL, Alexander , b. York Co., Ont., 1840, and practically raised in Victoria Co., where his parents removed soon after. He m. Mary McKague, and they started on the journey of life with very small means. In 1876, he came to Maryborough Tp., and after farming for some years, he purchased 100 acres in Peel Tp., lot 8, con. 11, and later, purchased 100 acres, lot 8 con. 10, which he deeded to his sons, John, and James. Issue: William in U.S.; John, and James.

John m. Essie Gibson.

James, m. Ada Awde. Issue: Marie.

Alexander McDougall has been very successful in life; a sterling citizen, and has the confidence and respect of all who know him. His sons are progressive farmers, and good citizens.
